Job Description:

Mercy Southwest is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist with strong experience in Microbiology for the evening shift. This position is responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures as assigned. Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a biological science required (Equivalency Required for Foreign Education)
• Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT), Certified CLS (ASCP), or Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International)CM, or Cytotechnologist CT (ASCP)
• Two years of pertinent experience in a high complexity laboratory in the assigned/specified area Principal Accountabilities:
  • Perform and document test results, quality control, and maintenance procedures according to technical policy/procedure
  • Evaluate and maintain technical procedures as appropriate to the department/facility
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards associated with governing and accrediting agencies
  • Teach, assess competency, and mentor other laboratory employees and students
  • Demonstrate leadership and promote quality patient care and customer service
