Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Meat Department Team Lead to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects.Key Responsibilities

• Leadership and Development: Lead and develop Team Members, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
• Store Operations: Assist the Team Leader in analysis of sales, reports, and labor, and work together to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets.
• Merchandising and Inventory: Develop and maintain creative store layout and product merchandising, and assist with ordering and inventory management.
• Customer Service: Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, and direct Team Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
• Team Management: Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team Members in a manner that sustains a high-performance team and minimizes turnover.Requirements
  • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • High energy, enthusiastic, and displays an affinity for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
  • Extensive knowledge of meat products, and growth mindset towards greater responsibility and ownership.
  • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.Working Conditions
    • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
    • In an 8-hour work day: standing/walking 6-8 hours.
