Job SummaryThe Gas Product Owner is a member of the Gas Technology
Platform and serves as the liaison between the Product Group and
Gas business stakeholders. The Product Owner works closely with
enterprise-wide Gas stakeholders to understand technology needs,
business value and effort to develop the product backlog. With
input from the Gas Platform Owner and Platform Manager, the Product
Owner is responsible for leading the product development process to
ensure alignment with Gas strategic initiatives, the Platform
roadmap, vision, mission and expected value delivery to the Gas
business. Essential Functions
- Responsible for developing, managing, validating, and
prioritizing the product backlog to ensure the Product Group has
prioritized work with associated business value that is ready to
pull into a Sprint.
- Through product backlog management activities, the Product
Owner will create Epics, Features and User Stories that align to
Gas strategic initiatives, quarterly objectives & key results.
- Responsible for leading the Product Group to meet and/or exceed
Gas Platform objectives and key results.
- Actively participates in all Scrum ceremonies, including
Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Sprint Review,
Sprint Retrospective as well as Product Owner Sync, Platform Sync &
Community of Practice sessions.
- Leads the Product Group through Quarterly Planning events.
- Owns the Product Roadmap and proactively champions for new
delivery opportunities, collaborating with stakeholders.
- Collaborates with other Product Owners to achieve delivery of
outputs when dependencies are identified across product teams.
- Fosters a positive environment for the self-directed, empowered
Product Group.
- Provides strategic oversight, guidance, and motivation for the
Product Group and reinforces a learning culture with a growth
mindset.
- Have a continuous improvement mindset and be able to motivate
Product Group members to adopt PDCA as part of day-to-day
practices. Essential Functions ContinuedStakeholder Management:
Able to create and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
in order to drive outcomes and create alignment around a vision or
course of action. Adaptability & Learning Agility: Ability to
learn, adapt, unlearn, and relearn to rapidly adapt to changing
business needs, processes, standards, and tools; a strong ability
to prioritize and reprioritize work. User Experience: Strong
understanding of how users will interact with systems,
applications, and products, with an ability to design innovative
applications and interfaces that are consumable and easy to
navigate. Value Realization: Strong ability to identify the
benefits provided by a proposed user story or feature relative to
the effort that it will require from the team in order to drive the
effective prioritization of work to maximize the benefits delivered
by the team to the customer. Product Management: Strong product
management skills, including an ability to communicate and inspire
product vision, strategy and roadmap, apply unique business
insights, prioritize work to be completed, and make sound decisions
aligned to business goals. Education DescriptionRequires a
Bachelor's degree - Business Administration, Project Management,
Computer Science, Information Systems or related field or four plus
(4+) years training and/or experience in utility operations or
engineering. ExperienceRequires at least three (3) years of
Progressive related work experience in Project or Product Delivery,
Product Management, IT and / or Business Operations or equivalent
experience . Requires a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
certification required or commitment to obtain CSPO within 3 months
Preferred at least three-five (3-5) years experience working within
the Energy sector or a Utility. Preferred Certified Scrum Master
(CSM) or other Agile Scrum certifications. Agile Tools: Knowledge
of Agile Tools, such as Azure, Jira, etc. preferred. Agile
Methodologies: Knowledge of concepts, including Agile Scrum and/or
Kanban, and application of Agile methodology preferred. We want you
